Why students choose AUT
Our story
Aqaba University of Technology is the first private university established in southern Jordan — built fifteen kilometres south of the city, on hills overlooking the Gulf, in a part of the Kingdom that had never had one.
We admitted our first students in 2015 into two faculties. Today there are seven colleges across engineering, pharmacy, technology, law, business, the arts and the health sciences — grown, deliberately, around what the region actually needs to hire.
How we grew
The first cohort
AUT opens as the first private university in southern Jordan, admitting its first students into Administrative & Financial Sciences and Information Technology.
Pharmacy and engineering follow
The university broadens into pharmacy, civil engineering and architecture.
Artificial intelligence
The Artificial Intelligence programme joins Software Engineering, launched with the university itself.
Cybersecurity
The newest programme opens, answering a national shortage of security graduates.
